Our room needed a thorough cleaning. The walls and light fixtures had obvious dirt and/or crusted material on them. I used a damp towel on a few spots and did not have trouble cleaning them so they were not stains. Our room the first day was still needing service at 4 pm. Hire some more staff and schedule deep cleaning . I won't return here. Staff we met were pleasant, just not enough to take care of the property.
The first thing to note is that the motel is actually a hotel. You have to go into the building to access your room. The regular price seemed good ~$55 per night. However they charged closer to $65 per night even with AAA because of my wife and two kids (very young kids). I wouldn't normally have minded this except they didn't clean the room or even restock the first day. One great thing about this hotel is the indoor pool and hot tub. They wait staff is really nice for all shifts I have met. The room was a little small for 4 people, even if two are tiny. But, there was a microwave and mini fridge so pretty good for a cheap hotel. One bigger issue is the bathroom which was starting to show mold around the floor under the sink. For the money this would be a great hotel if cleaned up internally and externally.
Bed was awful. No channels to watch, just a bunch of trash channels. I knew better than to stay but thought it's just one night. Ceiling was falling down. Two worn out pillows and horrid towels. Never again.
Room and halls were very dirty. They gave us a handicap room where the shower head kept breaking. The walls are paper thin and all night long we could hear the guy next door with his TV and talking on the phone and it was so loud it felt like it was in our room. We called the front desk to report it and we heard them call him and we heard the phone conversation (since the walls are so thin). He turned it down but we could still hear it. We could literally hear him sneeze and cough that's how ridiculously thin the walls are. People were talking in the halls all night and closing doors but because the walls are so thin it was so loud. I just couldn't believe how easily noise transferred into the rooms. Then the guy next door started up with his music at 5am at the same volume as he originally had his TV. Neither of us slept at all. We wanted out of that place so badly that we left 2 hours earlier than expected. Couldn't believe how much they charged us for that awful experience. We booked the hotel to get a good night sleep after a 10 hour drive, and didn't sleep at all.
The toilet in our room was full of toilet paper and human waste & would not flush properly when we arrived. We were immediately given another room where the toilet was clean and flushed properly. Both key card readers were broken on the two side entrances to the motel. Although we could exit at both doors we could only enter through the front door. This appeared to be a very run-down property.
