I have lived in Roswell all of my life. Not much to do. It isn't the best zoo, but it's a place to spend time with family. Has a few animals to see considering how small the place is. They have made renovations to the zoo to accommodate the animals a little better. Concession stand is okay. Big green areas and tables for picnics are available.
I love the pond here. So peaceful and quiet.
Free entrance to zoo. Plus a couple of Saturdays ago, they were preparing the area for the showing of a movie, also free, for families or individuals, at sundown! All you needed was a blanket, refreshments & a few snacks to have a great time. I'm sure it was part of their summer program. Also available are carousel & train rides for a minimal charge. I still love to go on a train ride or two. I'm not sure if adults are still allowed to ride the carousel animals or just stand next to their child or on one of the benches .
Imagine my surprise, (being from Fort Worth, Texas) when I learned it was FREE to visit. Very cool little "zoo". Not much to it, but it is nice to walk around and see the free roaming peacocks. They have a small variety of animals you can see. Bring a loaf of bread, they have a small pond you can feed the ducks at. Pretty open area. But definitely a neat place!
Great place to take kids. Wide open space, nice playgrounds, movies on sat, and a free zoo, train and carousel only run in summer and cost .25
